Yes, it's a Canon and it keeps me delighted for some while now.
Just so you know, I bought a new camera recently and just so you know, Im poorer by Rm1200 and just so you know what to do the next time we go dinner or movie. It's almost unavoidable but I try to refrain myself from getting the higher end Canon S15 IS with better features. My first priority was on the features offered by the camera but I couldn't possibly bring a bulky piece with me everywhere as this is my first camera. So out of all the compact camera, I picked this one which offered more manual controls to play with and by the same time still fit in my pocket. Although I must say the Sony Cybershot T-100's cool factors really caught my eye and almost get me to fuck up the priorities.
So then i got it, the 7.1 mega pixels with 1/2.5" CCD sensor and 35mm-210mm lens. Nothing so outstanding than any normal point-and-shoot but a 6 X optical zoom and more control by the user. I can play with either the shutter speed, aperture or both to tune to the picture that I want or put it to auto mode and "kachaaaa" right away. (Though I must admit that I'm still very much sucks at it.) I'm too excited on the first few days that I shoot anything without any motive, subject and no where worth shooting.

My first test at the LRT station near my house.
Another thing I like it is because it powered by 2 AA size battery which comes in handy. I can get replacement everywhere I go when my rechargeable battery it's not an option. The macro mode is quite ok for me to get close up of my spidy but it doesn't do very well under low light condition, just like most of other compact cams.

Lasiodora Parahybana a.k.a Salmon Pink Tarantula
I can get it to shoot very details of the creature up to every hair on their legs are visible. But I believe I can still do better on the macro shots.
A lot of money spent but it worth every penny this time. I needed a camera badly before the Beijing trip. My camera phone that once produced some nice pictures for me no longer satisfied me now. I can't wait to get the most out of my gear before I go for DSLR and found myself underutilize it. Hope I get some great shots there to share with you guys. Keep my fingers crossed.
